Language ACCEPTANCE Into Your Life

by Sterling Van De Moortel

How often have you found yourself saying something like:

"Another missed deadline! Why can’t you work harder?"

"He double-crossed me in the selection process."

"She turned traitor during the vote." (or "She was a hero…")

Let’s explore that language. What message are you conveying? That you rush to judgment? That you jump to conclusions and make assumptions? That you don’t give the benefit of the doubt? Is that how you want to show up to others and yourself?

In my experience, this alternate language conveys more ACCEPTANCE:

"I see the due date is past. What needs to happen to wrap things up?"

"He promised to support me and ended up choosing the other person."

"She cast the only ‘no’ vote. In my book she’s a (hero / traitor)."

Notice how non-judgmental and objective that language feels. So plug this LANGUAGE OF ACCEPTANCE into your operating system this week, and let me know how it impacts your life.

circledarrow.gif (881 bytes)Sterling coaches people to invent their lives through their language … to transform themselves by re-programming their operating system. His motto is: See it; say it; let it be so!

Sterling champions professionals, business people and individuals to express themselves authentically and vibrantly in all aspects of their lives ... to transform their lives through empowering language ... to become who they say they are.   His motto: "The best way to predict the future is to create it."
